Why do I have different sales data from other sources?

When comparing sales data between the eRetail Audit Marketplace platform and any other received data, it's crucial to ensure an apples-to-apples comparison. Common reasons for discrepancies include the following factors.

  1. VAT Inclusion: Confirm whether the Sellout data includes Value Added Tax (VAT) or not.

  2. Order Status: Determine if the Sellout data refers to initiated orders, completed/invoiced orders, and whether it includes records of "cancellations."

  3. Sales Channels: Specify the sales channels covered by the Sellout data, such as Eshop, Third-party sales (e.g., Amazon), Customer Service/Phone sales, International sales, and Affiliate eshops in different countries.

  4. Data Source: Identify the actual source of the data. Be aware that differences may occur within the same retailer across systems (ERP vs CMS or other data layers). While data synchronization is common, technical glitches due to data volume or heavy procedures can lead to issues like "delayed transmissions," "missed transactions," or intermittent database problems.

  5. Data Processing: Recognize that the processing of raw data may impact the reported numbers.

We strongly recommend communicating this information clearly to your Customer Success Manager when discussing comparisons.
